      In a round about way I'd say 'The Deadly Companions' reminded me of a lovable yet wounded dog. Well, with all due respect, dear reader, I honestly felt this western had a somewhat jaded feel to it. It spoke when it needed to speak. It moved when it needed to move. Plus its characters were kind of warming and nurturing by nature. The Deadly Companions" was produced by Maureen's brother, Charles FitzSimons in The screenplay was written by A.S. Fleischman. The haunting theme for the opening and closing credits was written (also lyrics) by Charles FitzSimons and sung beautifully by somewhat obscured by lack of promotion and distribution, I was delighted this film was transferred to video.

      Dorothy H. Crawford's "Dealy Companions" is a facinating read for anyone interested in microbiology or history. The book could easily be used as a supplement for a introductory microbiology course, however the non-student may find Crawford's style somewhat dry and sober, as she tends to downplay some of the most facinating subject matter and dissapointingly barrows many ideas and Pages: Sam Peckinpah's first feature as director is this modest Western, taking place in the late s.
